Nikola Mirotic MVP? No doubts for Eurodevotion after editorial staff met to select all the awards’ winners for this regular season.

There were no doubts in Eurodevotion staff while selecting the MVP for the 2021/22 Euroleague regular season.

Nikola Mirotic from Fc Barcelona won by getting 11 preferences.

Nikola Mirotic

Mike James, recently march MVP, was the only one close to the Barça’s star being selected 7 times.

Just one preference for Vasa Micic, the Final 4 reigning MVP.

While expressing own preferences, most of the staff agreed that Nikola Mirotic was the best since the beginning of the season, showing consistency from october to march, while the phenomenal guard Portland native was the best after Coach Sasa Obradovic reached As Monaco mid of december.

The player from Montenegro scored 16,7 points per game adding 5.1 rebounds for a PIR of 19,8.

68% in two pointers and an unbelievable 46,5% form the arc (2nd only to Marco Spissu) on as many as 134 shots: he is definitely the best of the league between players with more than 4 attempts per game in triples.

He didn’t score in double figures just 3 times in 31 games played with a season high of 31 points against eternal rivals of Real Madrid, the team where he started his Euroleague career winning two times the “Ring star” trophy.

These numbers make him the second best scorer of the season (Micic leads with 18,1) and the global leader in PIR, over Tavares, Larkin and Vezenkov.

Now it’s Playoff time and Niko needs to turn it into Mirotic time starting the postseason as the most awaited superstar playing for the best team so far.

The Montenegro born started his EL career with Real Madrid, where he got two consecutive title as Rising Star (2011 and 2012). With the “merengue” jersey he grew up after moving from his native Titograd to the Spain capital win 2005.

In 2014 he signed with the Chicago Bulls, where he spent 4 years scoring always in double digits. New Orleans and Milwaukee were his last stint in the NBA, before sensationally agreeing to a long therm deal with arch rivals of Barcelona. His signing created great controversy and discontent in Madrid where actually he is not exactly welcomed in the best way.
